MARITTA NERONIN

Maritta Neronin is an artist based in Helsinki, working with abstract relief painting and mixed media. Her practice centres on material memory: the ability of a surface to retain traces of pressure, damage, restoration and time.

She creates layered works using acrylic, metal leaf and a textural compound she has developed. Relief and metallic fragments change in appearance with the light and the viewer’s position.
