An oversized red apple rests on a turquoise plate beside a small bowl of yellow flowers. Curved shadows and a pink-and-lavender background give the familiar still-life objects a playful, simplified character. Alena Masyutina builds this acrylic composition from distinct colour shapes, allowing the relationships between fruit, flowers and tableware to carry the scene.
