Vertical bands of vivid blue, dark tones and gold leaf run through a richly textured surface. Uneven edges and raised passages interrupt the stripes, creating a composition that changes with close viewing. Maritta Neronin combines texture paste, acrylic and gold leaf on canvas, giving the abstract image both a strong colour structure and a tactile character.
