CAT DIMENSIONS Contemporary Art Inspired by Cats
International Exhibition in Tallinn
From April 24 to June 1, 2026, AGOP presents Cat Dimensions, an international exhibition dedicated to one of the most expressive and enduring figures in art: the cat.
The exhibition brings together artists from different countries whose works explore the cat as more than an animal or familiar domestic presence. In Cat Dimensions, the cat appears as character, symbol, companion, observer, and independent spirit — playful, mysterious, ironic, intimate, and surreal.
The participating artists approach the feline image through distinct personal styles and visual languages, ranging from close observation and everyday warmth to fantasy, humor, and symbolic interpretation. Together, the works create a multidimensional portrait of the cat in contemporary art.
“A cat is never just a cat. In art, it becomes a mirror, a symbol, a mood, and sometimes the most independent character in the room.”
— AGOP curatorial noteThe project is organized by AGOP in collaboration with the Estonian cat shelter Cats Help MTÜ. As part of the exhibition, visitors can support the shelter by purchasing postcards and magnets created for the project.
A portion of the proceeds from these sales will be donated to help cats under the care of Cats Help MTÜ. Visitors can also make a direct donation to the shelter during the exhibition.
Through this collaboration, Cat Dimensions connects contemporary art with a simple and tangible act of support. The exhibition invites visitors not only to experience art, but also to take part in helping animals in need.
Organized by AGOP, the exhibition also reflects the association’s broader mission: to create real exhibition opportunities for artists working across countries and to connect artistic practices developed online with physical exhibition space.
