Here’s Kitty! is an original black cat painting by Marharyta Soberzhanska, created in acrylic on a 10 × 10 cm panel. A dark-furred cat looks directly at the viewer with oversized yellow eyes while holding a large knife across the foreground.
Horizontal red and pale blue stripes provide a bold backdrop to the cat’s rounded face, pointed ears and wiry whiskers. Blue-grey marks in the black fur give the character definition, while the contrast between its innocent gaze and the unexpected prop creates a scene of playful menace.
This miniature acrylic painting brings a touch of dark humour to the artist’s light-hearted, ironic series for Kaleidoscope 2026. Its small square format concentrates the composition around the cat’s striking expression.
